The Athens House of Photography was created in Athens, Greece in 2010. For five years it operated as a commercial gallery, exhibition space and bookstore, providing Athens with its first commercial venue dedicated exclusively to photography. Lectures, workshops, classes, portfolio reviews, competitions and numerous other events were also organized. The AHoP assisted new photographers in showing their work but also provided a venue where photography lovers could view and purchase vintage prints from such classic names as Willy Ronis, Pentti Sammallahti, Constantine Manos, John Demos, Herbert List, Giorgia Fiorio, Martin Parr and numerous others.
In the winter of 2015 the AHoP closed its doors in Athens and made the move to Washington, D.C.. With an emphasis on Greek artists, but at the same time maintaning our collection of classic and modern international photographerss, we have expanded our reach to the wider D.C., Maryland and Virginia region. We now offer services such as print sales, artist representation, art estimation, art consulting, exhibition and event organizing and photobook publishing.
